What exactly is a diamond Hybrid?
diamond Hybrid is a hybrid diamond simulant composed of a non-precious core crystal combined with infused amorphous diamond.
diamond Hybrid is also called: diamond Simulant, Cultured diamond or Amorphous diamond. These names all mean the same thing.
diamond Hybrid is the only diamond Simulant in the world that employs a patent pending form of “Amorphous diamond” which is
man made and composed of a multitude of tiny diamond crystals all aligned together. These microscopic diamond crystals are blasted into the diamond Hybrid crystal through the Amorphous diamond Treatment process to give diamond Hybrid an upper layer that is both simulant and
man made diamond crystal. To better describe how the Hybrid stone is completed, we have begun calling it “diamond Infused”, as atomic force microscope analysis shows that the microscopic diamond cystals literally penetrate into the upper layers of the diamond Hybrid crystal, to form a new hybrid diamond simulant.
What you see and what you can touch is diamond.

Every diamond Hybrid comes with its own Gemological certificate of authenticity.
GGL - Global Gemological Laboratory
The diamond Hybrid certificate states that the stone is a diamond Simulant. Do not confuse the word Simulant with the word synthetic. The term Simulant is describing that this stone is similiar or comparable to a natural diamond. Synthetic can however be used to describe a cubic zirconia or moissanite stone.
Brilliance
diamond Hybrid perfectly mimics the diamond’s crystal structure resulting is a virtually identical look as fine
diamond.
Durability - diamond Hybrid scores approximately 9.00 on the Mohs hardness scale. (Natural diamond scores 10 as the hardest mineral.)
diamond Hybrid Hearts & Arrows Cut
Hearts and Arrows is an industry term for a specific type of round cut where all facets are in perfect alignment, proportion and symmetry. Cut is one of the four major components of diamond grading. Cut controls 98% of the brilliance of a round cut gem or diamond. However, cut is often the least understood of the four C’s, and often the most disregarded. It’s easy to understand carat weight, color and clarity, but cut is difficult.
The top half of a round diamond is called the crown. It is the crown that dictates the amount of fire of a round cut gem (how much light is broken down into it’s spectral colors). The bottom half of a round cut is termed the pavilion. The bottom half control how much light that enters the diamond is returned back to the viewer - this is termed it’s brilliance. How the facets on both the top and bottom half of the round cut gem line up (symmetry) determines a gems scintillation, or the way it plays light as reflects it to the viewer.
In a typical diamond, roughly 68% of the light that enters ends up being reflected back to the viewer.
In a Hearts and Arrows diamond, 96-98% of all light that enters is reflected back out!

How good does the diamond Hybrid look ?
How do I care for my diamond Hybrid ?
The simple answer to this question is just like a diamond (you can use ultrasonic cleaners, ammonia based jewelry cleaners, steam clean, etc.), because the upper layer utilizes a form of diamond known as ‘amorphous diamond‘. However, we wanted to provided more details than that to help ensure your diamond hybrid jewelry stays as clean and sparkling as possible over the years.
One cardinal rule to remember whenever cleaning jewelry– always ensure you clean diamond jewelry individually, even from other diamond jewelry. You do not want to have your diamonds banging together or against other jewelry.
Remember, no diamond or diamond simulant, man made or natural, is impervious to chipping, fracturing or scratching so use common sense in how you treat your jewelry. Doing so will help ensure you and your jewelry will spend a happy lifetime together. |
